Get to know writer Lynn Mullican:

1. What is your story about?

Crystal Bouchard awakens imprisoned in an underground cell with no recollection of how she got there, and with no memory of her prior existence. Held against her will, her captors threaten to kill her son unless she fights to the death in the underground fighting circuit. Nicknamed “The Dragon,” she spends the next several years among werewolves and vampires.

During the course of searching for her son, she slowly begins to recollect her prior existence before her imprisonment, pushing her deeper within the fighting circuit.

2. Why should people know this story?

Crystal Dragon taps into the inner person within us, both good and bad. It makes us question how and why people do the things they do, whether it makes us truly a bad person or not, and whether we can be forgiven for our mistakes, our decisions in life, and our misfortunes. This story makes us question how and why the beast and the angel reside within us.
Crystal Dragon delves into the questions we are afraid to ask. Your questions and answers about the good and bad within us lie within this dark and twisted tale of one woman’s fight to survive within the vampire and werewolf infested underground world.

3. This story has a lot going for it. How would you describe this story in two words?

Immortal survival

4. What movie have you seen the most in your life?

Star Wars.

5. How long have you been working on this story?

Crystal Dragon became an idea in 2005. After three years of playing with the idea, I finally started writing it in 2008. It was originally published in March of 2011, but after multiple revisions, editing, new cover, etc. it was re-published in 2012. In 2014, the cover was revised. So, from start to finish it has been 9 years.

6. How many stories have you written?

I think I’ve lost count. I would say over a 100 but I’ve only published four books.

7. What motivated you to write this story?

I was inspired with an idea I had been playing with for quite some time. The motivation to get it into words and on paper was the kicker. I wanted to see it in print. Plus, I wanted to leave a legacy for my family, something they could be proud of. I had a lot of inspiration for that book from multiple sources, one of which included my family.

8. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about dancing, martial arts, the outdoors, hiking, reading and spending quality time with family and friends.

9. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

My advice for other writers is to keep writing, don’t give up, keep reading, learn more about writing and editing, accept constructive criticism, and learn from others in the writing field.
